Tumalo

Tumalo
By Ian
I feel pain with Tumalo
Its clear waters and dense plant life
But I shall not let it sit in pain, no
I love its cold waters, running since before the pharaohs
But our actions leave it battered, as if by knife
I feel pain with Tumalo
But I can help, I can save the willow
And alder that are needed to keep erosion from being rife
But I shall not let it sit in pain, no
I can save the fish if I try, even if I must billow
In the wind, exhausted, for the wildlife
I feel pain with Tumalo
I feel rage that we must hurt it so, going so far as assault by backhoe
It seems the creek has been snapped by a jackknife
But I shall not let it sit in pain, no
I feel I should protect our creek, I should be all aglow
But I feel that we should simply avoid strife
I feel pain with Tumalo
But I shall not let it sit in pain, no.

  1. This Tumalo piece sets the tone for your portfolio pieces. How about adding a profile paragraph to highlight bits about you? K
